No.2 Welsh Wing Mountain Leader Training
No.2 Welsh Wing Volunteer Staff successfully completed a Quality Mountain Day training in Snowdonia.

Staff Mountian Leader Training
Air Cadet staff can undertake many different types of training courses , and one course which is very popular in North Wales is the Mountain Leader Training.
This involves joining the Mountain Leader Training Board (MLTB) and then logging 20 'Mountain Days'. Once these days are logged candidates can then apply to undertake the training course.

Following completion of the course, candidates must then complete a consolidation period, which involves undertaking at least a further 20 days in three different, but suitable areas of the UK. Once the 20 days are completed, candidates can apply for assessment.

To assist  staff in their pre-course and pre-assessment preparation and training, Squadron Leaders Ken Pudney and Dave French organise Quality Mountain Day weekends (QMD's) to enable staff to work towards their award, and meet others working toward the same goal.

Pictured are staff nearing the top of the ridge on Moel Siabod, Snowdonia during a very good qualitiy mountain day.
