Although the Air Cadet Organisation is a registered charity in itself, many units take part in fund-raising activities in areas local to the squadrons, for local, and in many cases national charities and good causes.

Many cadets use their Air Cadet experience to raise the profile of the charity they are working towards.

Examples of some charity work that has taken place within Wales and West Region include:

- A charity RAF Hawk aircraft pull, in aid of The Chernobyl Children's Lifeline. Raised over £2500.

- Taking part in a skydive, in aid of the Tenovus Cancer Charity. Raised over £500.
