During your time in Air Cadets, you will be offered the opportunity to fly in our primary Gliding trainer aircraft – the Grob Vigilant, our Gliding trainer.

However, the opportunities do not stop there. You may also be offered the opportunity to fly in another of our glider aircraft – the Grob Viking. A glider in the truest sense, usually launched by winch, it offers an exhilarating 0 – over a 1000 ft in a few seconds after take-off!

All Air Cadet flying staff are volunteers, who are either current or former Service pilots.

Specialist opportunities are also available, such as the chance to take part in a Gliding Scholarship – enabling you to fly the aircraft, solo, at the age of 16 – before you can even learn to drive a car!
